McBride Travel Guide
Welcome to McBride!
McBride is a premiere outdoor activity destination located on the British Columbia-Alberta border, in between the Caribou and Rocky Mountains. The town is within driving distance to parks such as Jasper National Park, Bowron Lake Provincial Park and Wells Gray Provincial Park. During the summer months visitors can enjoy hiking, quading and biking through Koeneman Park and Kakwa Provincial Park, as well as kayaking and fishing in the Fraser River. In the winter months the town is a snowmobiler—s paradise as the nearby mountains of Bell, Lucille and Renshaw offer a combined 55 km (35 mi) of groomed trails to traverse. McBride is also home to several tour guide companies that specialize in arranging trips catering to hunters and backcountry camping enthusiasts.
When in town, vacationers can soak in some local culture by visiting hot spots like the historic McBride Train Station, or the Whistle Stop Gallery, an art gallery that highlights local artists. Visitors to McBride in August can experience the Robson Valley Fall Fair. This yearly event features a parade, carnival games and exhibits celebrating the area's rich history.
